Welcome to the Panthers a new U11 Boys team formed Christmas 2017 and playing in the East Berks Football Alliance.
Girls U12s beat AFC Reading 7-0
Maidenhead U12 Girls put in an outstanding team performance to beat AFC Reading away 7-0 on Sat 24th March.
The girls have been working in training on communicating even more on the pitch (ie coaches saying nothing during matches) – They really delivered on this today with particularly amazing communication from girl of the match Sofia Lacey and Rebecca Hesketh.
Caitlin Bennett and Matilda Walker played half a match each in goal and did brilliantly to both keep clean sheets.
The long passing and overall teamwork were outstanding and with a 5-0 lead at half time the result was never in doubt. 3 goals were scored by Lily Gibson and 4 by Emily McMaster.
The whole team are looking forward to injured players hopefully returning for the last league match of the season on 21 April.
U10 Girls win end of season tournament!
Congratulations to the U10 girls for winning the end of season. More info to come!
A great finish for possibly the last game for the team at Kensington Road.
U12 Girls vs Shinfield
Today was the last game of the season and a rematch against Shinfield. The pitch wasn’t icy this time, but the weather couldn’t have been much worse – cold wind driving snow across the pitch.
The first half saw goals from Emily and Rebecca, but Shinfield managed to get a couple as well. The second half was also quite even, but with a few opportunities just missed by Maidenhead and a frozen goalie having to take time out to warm up, the score ended 4-6 to Shinfield. Emily and Sophia scored the other two for Maidenhead.
Well done for all the girls for turning up and being so keen on a very cold day! Player of the week went to Oonagh for brave play despite a sore knee.
From the coach: “Amazing play, no subs, down to 8 second half and also Oonagh had a busted knee. It was crazy cold.”
Maidenhead Girls 6 – Caversham Black Swans 10
The team was: Caitlin Bennett, Ellie Spicer, Emily McMaster, Lily Gibson, Lily May Shepherd, Sofia Lacey, Rebecca Hesketh, Daniela Yakubovich, Matilda Walker, Oonagh McCartney, Jess Buckley, Georgina Evans.
Having lost 3-0 and 4-0 in the league and the cup respectively in their previous meetings with Caversham Black Swans this season, Maidenhead knew they were in for a tough game.
However, this time Maidenhead managed to score and in fact scored 6 goals with a hat-trick apiece for Lily Gibson and Emily McMaster, with one of Emily’s goals coming from a penalty.
Invites are out for the Summer Tournament!
The date has been confirmed and invites are being sent out.

Cup day for U10/U9 girls
Following a few weeks of cancelled matches the U10 girls team had two cup games today. We were down a few players, so no subs available.
The first game against Bracknell Athletic was a really exciting and close game. Despite some great play, some brilliant crosses and lots of pressure the match ended 0-1 to Bracknell.
Against Berks County we went down 2 goals in the first half despite some great defence and a brilliant save from our first half goalie Olivia. The girls tried really hard in the second half with some brilliant runs from Mia, but the game ended 0-3 to Berks.
Thanks to the joint coaching from Steve and Dave.
Girls U10 – Futsal finalists!
Maidenhead U10 girls played in the Berks Girls Futsal tournament in Bracknell at the weekend. With two wins and a loss in the group round they made it through to the finals.
The final itself was a tense 2-2 draw, followed by penalties with the girls eventually getting knocked out in sudden death penalties.
Great play and great teamwork!
