U15 MAIDENHEAD COLTS 1 – ASHRIDGE PARK PARK 1

We won the previous fixture 4-2 away to Ashridge Park. We only had 11 players for this Bank Holiday weekend fixture.

Kick off 10.37am. Freddie Nash in goal, Charlie Townsend left back, Jack Clews and Josh Ewers centre backs and Lucas Taylor right back with Ethan Rockley left wing, Maverick Afonso and Tejas Chahal centre midfield with Declan Pinto right wing and up front Ben Thompson and Owen Smyth.

Declan ball forward. Tejas to Owen. 10.42. Freddie collected ball. Freddie great kick to Ben. Owen shot collected by their goalie. Ethan won their goalie kick. Charlie to Ethan. Jack free kick to Owen to Declan who went on run into box. Josh brilliant interception. 10.47 Freddie great save. Ben run down left wing and laid ball back for Ethan. Declan good work in middle of the park. Owen to Ben. Tejas throw and ball into box and Declan cross from right which Ethan tried to head home but couldn’t quite reach. 10.54 Charlie great ball to wing. Ethan fouled. Owen great free kick but goalie saved. Charlie great touch to bring their goalie kick down. Declan won tackle. Lucas won tackle. Tejas great battling.

Lucas great run to midfield, skipping fouls to pass to Declan. Owen great cross from right into box, Ethan got the ball and crossed it back in from the left. Declan to Owen and cross in box from right. Josh clearance. Josh clearance for another throw. Maverick cleared. Charlie block. 10.59 Declan run and shot was parried for our corner from left. Josh to Declan who shielded the ball well and laid back to Lucas to play the ball forward. 11.04 our throw by their corner flag on the left. Charlie to Declan to Owen. Owen to Maverick to Declan to Owen. Jack interception in defence. Jack throw. Jack throw in their half to Ethan. Ben to Declan whose shot went just wide. Jack to Charlie to Tejas. Declan and Lucas good play, Owen to Tejas. Ben shot looked like it was going in but didn’t. Ethan and Ben good work, Owen shot. Charlie good play “juggling” ball and to Jack who played ball forward. Half time 0-0. Sean told the boys at half time that that was the best half of football he has seen them play.

2nd half 11.24am. Positions the same as first half. Owen ball forward for Tejas. Declan run into box on goalie. Ben to Owen. Declan to Tejas to Ethan. Josh clearance all the way to their goalie.

Jack throw. Ethan tackle. Ben ball to wing. Declan cross. Jack great tackle. Freddie save from their corner. Charlie great work up front with Owen. Jack throw along line. Tejas ball forward. Jack ball forward. Jack good battling. Owen run and one-two with Ethan but then Owen ruled offside. 11.37 Freddie save. Josh great covering in defence. Freddie diving save. Ethan defensive header off for throw. Owen cross from left. Josh long clearance, about the length of a pitch, for a throw! Tejas holding the ball up well under pressure. Ethan took ball well from their goalie. Charlie block. Maverick ball forward. Freddie save. Ethan header. 12.02 Ethan fouled in the box, Jack took resulting penalty but unfortunately missed. Freddie save. Jack bad foul on their player.

The boys were really disappointed not to win, especially after playing so well and Jack was gutted not to have scored the penalty.
